GI Joe public service announcemnts
I was looking for old GI Joe PSAs when I found this site that has many of them posted.
You have to love "Roadblock- Don't jump your bike over downed power lines: Remember, don't play around electric wires or you could be playing with fire." The sad part is I actually remember watching that as a kid.
My personal favorite "Spirit- Blind kids can find lost kittens too: Having a handicap doesn't mean you're helpless." Who wrote this stuff?
Don't ask why I was looking up old GI Joe PSAs, because I have no clue.

Just say no to Blogger beta
I wish I would have never "upgraded" to the beta version of Blogger. now want to switch over to Wordpress, but you are unable to import your blog in the beta version. I'm going to look for another way to do it, but if anyone has any tips it would be appreciated.

Regmon and Filemon Release as One Utility
Microsoft has just released regmon and filemon in one utility called Process Monitor. As you will remember regmon and filemon were Sysinternals tools which were acquired when Microsoft purchased Sysinternals in July of 2006.
Quoting the Eweek article "The release of the new utility, called Process Monitor coincides with the relaunch of the Sysinternals portal as the Windows Sysinternals TechCenter on Microsoft TechNet."

Vista is "rock-solid and ready to ship"
Microsoft announced today that Vista has gone gold and has been released to manufacturing.
Here is a quote from Jim Allchin, Microsoft's Windows chief "This is a good day. Less than hour ago, we officially signed off on Windows Vista. It's rock-solid and ready to ship."
I am ready to see how rock solid it really is.

Wikipedia is fast
Check out this article it was updated probably 2 minutes after the announcement of Robert Gates for the role of Secretary of Defense.

7 Signs of Web 2.0 (in no particular order)
1. Users forget about the article they read 20 minutes ago.
2. Sites that talk about Web 2.0 become more successful than the Web 2.0 sites.
3. Web 1.0 kids come out of hiding.
4. Everyone thinks they have the next big thing.
5. People have their ZDTV tattoos replaced with TWIT or Diggnation.
6. Google pays $1.6 billion for a site that hosts videos such as a kid shooting a bottle rocket out of his butt.
7. Your grandmother actually has a blog.

Poll on least favorite pundits
I know this is a pretty crazy poll, but I was curious as to who most people like the least among these three pundits. I know two are politics and one is tech, but I just thought this would be interesting to see.

Blogging Stocks thinks Myspace is over
According to a blog on Blogging Stocks "MySpace is soooo over". Now I would not complain about this by any means , but I know there will just be another one right behind Myspace when they fail. They talk about average times users spend on the site and discuss how it is following the trend of the "last big thing" and decreasing. I would be terrified in their business because of the fickle nature of their user base.

Google preparing for radio ads
Quoting Reuters "Web search leader Google Inc. is hiring scores of radio sales people and is spending heavily in a bid to expand its position in the $20 billion radio industry."
I imagine the same thing will come soon enough for people in the newspaper business. I would seriously be watching the careers section of Google if I was in one of these fields.

Get out and vote!
I voted this morning and just wanted to encourage everyone out there that can to vote to go and vote. Was a pretty big deal for me because the small town I live in is voting on a wet/dry issue (yes some towns are still dry.) So make sure you get out and vote as it is a freedom we enjoy and many good people gave their lives for.

My thoughts on Digg as of now
I just read an article that had been something I was thinking about for some time. I think I am going to actively get back into posting, but not on Digg I will use my own blog. I am getting tired of people getting rich off of myself and the efforts of many others. I am going to post in my own blog more often instead of a site not controlled by myself or for that matter not even controlled by the majority of the vote. I'm sick of all the drama at Digg with everyone complaining all the time so I am doing something about it, and will no longer contribute to the site. This is the blog that helped me make up my mind Geek News Central. If anyone else from Digg is interested I say we form our own community link to each others blogs and help drive our own traffic.

Cell Phone Reviews
I was recently in the market for a new cell phone and found the site Mobiledia. I would recommend if you are in the market for a new cell phone check out their reviews.

United States top of list on phishing hosts
According to a report from Phistank the United States is hosting more phising hosts than any other country. Phishtank (which is run by OpenDNS) is a user generated site that relies on its users to contribute links to phishing sites. The report shows the US is hosting 24% of the phishing hosts in the world, and South Korea is second with 14%. I would imagine this would be the case though as most people contributing to the site are probably in the US.

Myspace Problems Again?
My wife was looking through profiles on Myspace last night using IE 6 when suddenly the virus scanner alerted her that it had blocked a buffer overflow with IE. She is using the corporate version of Mcafee (I do not prefer it but I can get this version for free.) Has anyone else seen this? I'm not sure if it was just from a random add on the page or if it was something static on the profile. Would lover to hear if anyone else has seen this?

Status Giving Away Digg Account
I had a few people contact me about giving my account to a non-profit. I have decided to keep the account, but I'm not going to be posting on it anymore. I just don't think there is a good way to know that it will just be used for the right reasons. I grew tired of Digg and I also no longer have the time available to me that I had before.
